- Create a survey
- Collect data (get people to complete the survey)
- Create a graph of that data
- Explain what your survey/data/graph can tell us about the surveyed group

Creating a survey (10 mins)
- choose your target group (could be a year level or a class. should be more than 10 people but less than 30)
- choose your sub-groups (you will separately survey boys and girls, for example, or different year levels, or age groups)
- create a survey question and note which categories people will choose from
- draw up your results table and make sure you have enough room for your tallying
- politely make sure that you can survey your target group (if the teacher says no, do something different)
- make sure that you don't survey the same person more than once
- make sure that your tally marks are easy to read and in the right boxes
- create a graph from your data
- ensure that you include all the features of a graph
- write a few sentences or dot points explaining what your survey can tell us
- explain how this data can be used in a real life situation (eg. we should order pepperoni pizza instead of pineapple)
