Learning Intention:
To understand how coloured transparent objects filter the light that goes into them. To understand how we perceive coloured objects.
Success Criteria:
I can safely use colour filters and a torch to make observations about light. I can draw light diagrams to show what I observe.
Using a torch and colour filters, work in groups to experiment with light.
You must complete the underlined experiments. The other experiments are to be completed if you have the time.
Draw ray diagrams in your book to show:

Draw ray diagrams in your book to show:
- Torch light going through each filter and hitting a piece of paper
- Torch light going through more than 1 filter and hitting a piece of paper
- Viewing a coloured object through a same-coloured filter
- Viewing a coloured object through a differently-coloured filter
- Viewing a coloured object through more than 1 filter at once

Learning Intention: To understand that white light is made up of many different colours
Success Criteria: I can watch the below videos and answer the questions underneath. I can read with the class and complete the worksheet to the best of my ability.

- Does light change its speed when it goes through a different kind of object/medium?
- What are some of the colours that are in white light?
Working with a partner, draw a diagram in your book which shows light hitting a prism and splitting into a rainbow. Make sure you label all the colours.
